The Department of Electrical Engineering at Shri Ram College of Engineering, a unit of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar, organized a one-day national seminar on the topic of "Renewable Energy for Sustainable Power System" in which important changes and innovations taking place in the field of electrical engineering were discussed. The inaugural session of this seminar was presided over by Dr. SC Kulshrestha, Chairman, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar. While Prof. Shyamakant Jha, NSUT, New Delhi was present as the chief guest. In the seminar, Dr. Bhavnesh Kumar, NSUT, New Delhi, as the keynote speaker, presented his views on Advancement and Future Direction in Solar Photovoltaic.
After the inaugural session, two technical sessions were organized in which 15 research papers were presented from various institutions of the country. Local teachers and researchers also read their research papers and shared suggestions on alternative energy and sustainability. In the first session of the national seminar, Prof. B.N. Kar of Seemant Engineering College, Odisha presented his research paper on Electric Vehicle Shaping the Future of Sustainable Mobility. Dr. Raghavendra Tiwari, Tirthankar Mahaveer Vishwavidyalaya, Moradabad gave in-depth information on the topic “Protection Coordination in DG Base Power System” to the audience. In the second session, Dr. Ankur Kumar, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar presented a research paper on “Cyber Attack Detection and Classification Using Machine Learning Technique”. On this occasion, Dr. S.C. Kulshreshtha, Chairman, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, in his presidential address said that only through continuous innovation and research in the field of electrical engineering, we can meet the increasing energy needs of industries and society. He requested everyone to adopt renewable energy and work towards making human life easier.
On this occasion, the Institute's Director Dr. SN Chauhan described the depletion of traditional energy resources as a matter of concern and said that only developing and maximum use of solar energy, wind energy, thermal energy, tidal energy, geological energy can meet the energy needs. Energy should be used rationally so that future generations can have a secure future.
The seminar was a golden opportunity for teachers, students and professionals of electrical engineering in which they received important information about the present and future technology. This program also proved that the future of electrical engineering is extremely interesting and innovative.
Among the prominent experts who participated in the seminar were Prof. S.N. Chauhan, Director, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar, Dr. Girendra Gautam, Prof. Suchitra Tyagi, Dr. Ankur Kumar, Convener Renewable Energy for Sustainable Power System and Head of Department, Electrical Eng., Vikul Kumar, Eng. Richa Gola played the role of co-convener in the said national seminar.
