The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Shri Ram College Muzaffarnagar organized a one-day workshop on the theme 'Color the story with words'. In which the trainers were former student of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and content writing expert Nikshay Dhiman and screenplay writing expert Sparsh Goyal. The workshop was organized in two phases.
In the workshop, Nikshay Dhiman taught the students of Journalism and Mass Communication the tricks of content writing in the first phase and made them aware about skill development. He explained the technical points related to content writing to the students in detail. He told about the types of content writing and explained that from social media captions to blog writing, there are many such platforms where a better future can be made through writing skills. He told that now there are many such opportunities to make a career in content writing on which students should pay attention. Along with this, he explained search engine optimization in detail and told the students that it is very important to have knowledge of search engine optimization for content writing. After this, he gave some important tips for working on WordPress and guided the students.
In the second phase of the workshop, Sparsh Goyal explained the intricacies of screenplay writing to the students in detail. He also shared information about the importance and technical points of screenplay writing. He told that in the film industry, work is done on the screenplay before producing any film. He told that screenplay writing is an important part of any film. He further told that to become a good screenplay writer, reading skills need to be developed. Also, while encouraging the students, he said that to develop writing skills, students should read and watch newspapers, good novels, stories, short movies etc. He told in detail about creating characters in stories and also explained the structure of the screen play in detail.
On this occasion, Ravi Gautam, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, said that the primary objective of the workshop is to develop the skills of the students of BJMC and MJMC and make them employable. He said that the second objective of this workshop was to develop the art of learning, reading and writing in the students and to increase their self-confidence as well as to develop leadership skills in them. He said that the third and important objective of the workshop is to make the students of Journalism and Mass Communication aware about the importance of employment oriented education and to develop mental ability in relation to developing media houses and professional culture. He further said that in the present era, there are immense opportunities for students in the field of media, the only need is to develop their professional skills.
On this occasion, the Principal of the institute, Dr. Prerna Mittal, in her address said that employment oriented education is the demand of the present era. She said that such workshops are helpful in developing skills in students.
On this occasion, Dean Academic Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Journalism and Mass Communication Department spokesperson Shivani Burman, Mayank Verma and Kahkasha Mirza and other teachers were present.
