To make people aware of the progress in the field of space and its impact on the environment, a quiz program was organized on 05.10.2024 under the 'World Space Week-2024' starting from 04.10.2024 at Shri Ram College of Engineering, a unit of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar, in which the students highlighted the above topic through a quiz on the theme 'Space and Climate Change'. This program started with positivity in the premises of Shri Ram College of Engineering in which the students played their role.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. S.C. Kulshrestha, Founder Chairman, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar, Director Dr. S.N. Chauhan and Dean Dr. Suchitra Tyagi by jointly lighting the lamp.
Under this theme, emphasis will be laid on the relationship between space technology and climate science. During this week, emphasis will be laid on monitoring changes in the environment with the help of space technology and satellites and making strategies to reduce the impact of climate change.
World Space Week is celebrated every year between 4 and 10 October. It is an annual event celebrated in more than 95 countries of the world. Space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, museums, planetariums and astronomy clubs organize many types of programs during this week.
On this occasion, the founder chairman of the institute, Dr. S.C. Kulshreshtha, in his message to the students, praised their talent. He also said that such programs should continue to be held in the future. Thereafter, he honoured the students by giving them certificates and mementos.
On this occasion, Dr. S.N. Chauhan, Director, Shriram Group of Colleges, while praising the students, said that World Space Week should be made an essential part of our global initiative and awareness about space should be brought among the students so that they and India can be made self-reliant through entrepreneurship in this field.
In the quiz competition, apart from the first, second and third prizes, two consolation prizes were also given to the students.
On this occasion, the Dean of Academics of the institute, Dr. Suchitra Tyagi, all the department heads, program director Ruchi Rai, besides Ms. Anju Tyagi, Engr. Indu Chauhan, Engr. Nishhu Bhardwaj, Engr. Arjun Kumar, Engr. Abhishek Kumar Jagarwal and other teachers were present in the program.
