A three-day workshop titled Career opportunities in garment machinery and apparel industry

A three-day workshop titled "Career opportunities in garment machinery and apparel industry" concluded in the Fine Arts Department of Shriram College. Students participated in it enthusiastically. The aim of this workshop was to provide practical information about modern garment machinery and guide the participants about career prospects in the rapidly growing garment sector.

On this occasion, experts Vansh and Suryakant from the country's reputed Usha Company explained in detail about 300 stitchings and embroidery to the students in the 3-day workshop. The workshop included practical demonstration of major garment machines like industrial sewing machine, overlock machine, flatlock machine and automatic cutting equipment. Industry experts and trainers explained operational techniques, maintenance procedures and technological advancements that are shaping the garment manufacturing process today. They told the students how they can make a successful career in the garment industry.

On this occasion, Director of Fine Arts Department, Dr. Manoj Dhiman told that sewing machine is a mechanical device which is used to sew a cloth or other thing with a thread or wire. They were invented during the first industrial revolution. Beautiful clothes, small and big bags, sheets, thin or thick quilts are stitched with sewing machines. Beautiful embroidery is done and many other things can be done in this way. More than two thousand types of machines are used for different works like sewing cloth, leather, etc. Now, machines for buttoning, making seams, embroidery, all kinds of machines have started being made separately. Now the machine is also run by electricity.
On this occasion, Head of Fine Arts Department, Meenakshi Kakran told that apart from technical sessions, the program also included an engaging career counseling segment, where professionals from leading apparel companies and educational institutions shared valuable insights on skill development, education pathways and job opportunities available in design, production, quality control and supply chain roles. This workshop was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practice,”

Certificates were distributed to the participants on the occasion and the students expressed their appreciation to the college for providing them the opportunity to work with real machinery and interact with the stalwarts of the textile industry to satiate their curiosity about career.

The Head of the Department Meenakshi Kakran, lecturers Rajnikanth, Dr. Anu, Binnu Pundir, Reena Tyagi, Mayank Saini, Ajit Manna, Soni Srivastava, Siddharth, Shehzadi and Karunakar Sharma were instrumental in making this workshop a success.
