Creative Minds with Creative Lines

The Journalism and Mass Communication Department of Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar inaugurated a seven-day workshop on the theme "Creative Minds with Creative Lines". The aim of this workshop, which will run from 7 May to 15 May 2025, is to develop understanding and professional skills of layout designing and creative arts as well as various means of expression among the students.

Dr. Manoj Dhiman, Director, Fine Arts Department, Shri Ram College, is the chief instructor of the workshop. Today, on the first day of the workshop, he shared his experience with the students and made them aware of the nuances of creative thinking, accounting, composition and visual expression.

On this occasion, he taught the students the tricks of print media designing and layout and made them aware about skill development. He also explained the technical nuances related to print media designing to the students in detail. He explained the use and importance of Corel Draw to the students in detail and gave detailed information about its tools. He explained to the students about the move tool, shape tool, crop tool, text tool, interactive fill tool etc. practically and also gave information about their use. He told that through this software, designing of print advertising template leaflets is done and it is also helpful in designing visiting cards, wedding cards etc.

On this occasion, Ravi Gautam, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, while giving information about the workshop, said that the first objective of the workshop is to develop the skills of the students of BJMC and MJMC and make them employable.

He told that the second and important objective of the workshop is to make the students of journalism and mass communication aware about the importance of employment oriented education and to develop mental ability in relation to developing media house and professional culture. He told that in the present era, there are immense opportunities for students in the field of media. Therefore, this workshop has been organized for the students. On this occasion, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication spokesperson Mayank Verma, Shivani Burman, Kahkasha Mirza, etc. were present.
