In Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, a joint effort of Meerut Film Society and Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, organized a university level Navankur 2025, Film Making Festival, to spread awareness about documentary film making among the students studying in higher educational institutions/colleges of all the districts, in which many contestants participated.
Navankur 2025, Film Making Festival, competition was divided into two categories of 5 minutes time period and 15 minutes time period in which more than 150 films came from all over the state, on this occasion, Narayan Sharma, Mohit Prajapati, Ayush Goyal, Mohit Kumar, MA JMC second year students of Journalism and Mass Communication Department of Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar, received a special award by presenting a very impressive informative documentary film named "Gud ki Nagri Muzaffarnagar".
On this occasion, the students were awarded by Prof. Sangeeta Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director of Shri Ram College, said that a documentary film is a non-fiction film whose purpose is to document real events, people or subjects, often documentary films are made for education, information or historical record. He congratulated the participating children and wished them a bright future.
Speaking on this achievement of the students, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal of Shri Ram College, congratulated them and said that the purpose of a documentary film is to educate the audience about a subject or to give them information. The efforts made by the students are commendable. On this occasion, Ravi Gautam, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, expressed his views and said that the film made on 'Sugarcane' by the students of Journalism and Mass Communication presents the sugarcane farmers and jaggery industry of Muzaffarnagar in front of the people with great seriousness. He told that after researching on this subject for several days by the students, the film was shot for five days and the editing of the film was completed in a week. The success of the film is due to the dedication, discipline, planning and commitment of the students. He also congratulated the participating children and encouraged them and wished them a bright future.
