A seminar was organised by the Department of Business and Management in Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar on the topic “Issues and Challenges of Financial Inclusion in India”. The seminar was inaugurated by lighting a lamp in front of Maa Saraswati. The keynote speaker of the seminar was Deepak Garg, a SEBI panelled expert and trainer of National Financial Education Centre. He said that even today India is facing challenges and difficulties related to financial inclusion, such as - lack of financial literacy, digital divide, inadequate infrastructure, gender disparities, lack of digital access points, high cost of services, unstable financial policies etc.
On this occasion, Deepak Garg said that to deal with these challenges, financial education can be improved by organising financial education and literacy programmes.
In the first phase of the seminar, the keynote speaker Deepak Garg told the students how they can balance income and expenditure through budgeting and also told them about small and big investment mediums. Thereafter, he also taught the students the tricks of trading in the share market. During the seminar, Mr. Deepak Garg enlightened the students through a quiz. In the second phase of the seminar, the keynote speaker Deepak Garg discussed in depth about digital arrest, cyber crime and Ponzi schemes.
Taking the seminar forward, he invited the lecturers and students of the Department of Business and Management on the stage to express their views on the topic of the seminar, in which various lecturers and students presented their articles related to the issues and challenges of financial inclusion in India.
On this occasion, Dr. S.C. Kulshreshtha, Chairman of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, congratulated all the members of the Department of Business and Management and said that such programs are expected from the department in future as well.
On this occasion, Principal of Shri Ram College, Dr. Prerna Mittal said that the objective of this seminar is to reduce the challenges of financial inclusion in India and to make students and participants aware of financial education and cyber fraud.
On this occasion, Dean of Management Block of Shri Ram College, Dr. Saurabh Mittal said that students should keep participating in such seminars so that their financial education can be strengthened further and their all-round development can take place along with the subject curriculum.
Concluding the program, Head of Department, Dr. Vivek Kumar Tyagi expressed his gratitude to the special guests, keynote speaker and all other participants. He encouraged fellow lecturers and students to participate in such programs in future as well.
