The final match was played on the fifth and last day of the inter-college cricket competition of Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur, being held at Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar. In which the cricket team of Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar defeated the team of SD (PG), Muzaffarnagar and won the title of Maa Shakumbhari University Cricket (Men's Category) and brought laurels to the college.
On this occasion, the chief guest was Narendra Bahadur Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Administration), Muzaffarnagar, and among the special guests were Mr. Manoj Pundir, BCCI member, Secretary Muzaffarnagar Cricket Association, Chairman of Shri Ram Group of Colleges Dr. SC Kulshrestha, Principal of Shri Ram College Dr. Prerna Mittal, Dean Academics of Shri Ram College Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Head of Department of Physical Education Pramod Kumar and other teachers.
On this occasion, Professor Sandeep Gupta, JV Jain College, Saharanpur was present as Observer/Selector on behalf of Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur.
Giving information about the competition, Pramod Kumar, Head of Physical Education Department, Shri Ram College said that today the final match of the inter-college cricket competition of Maa Shakumbhari University Saharanpur was played between SD (PG) College, Muzaffarnagar and Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar.
The final match of the inter-college cricket (men) category competition of Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur, being held at Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar, was played between SD (PG) College, Muzaffarnagar and Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar on the fifth day. In which SD (PG) College, Muzaffarnagar won the toss and decided to field first. The team of Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar batted vigorously and scored a huge score of 218 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 hours. Pranav Sharma scored the highest score of 79 runs in 51 balls from Shri Ram College. While playing the captaincy innings, team captain Arpit Baliyan scored 61 runs in 20 balls and put his team on a strong score. The players of the opposing team SD (PG) College, Muzaffarnagar, who came to chase the runs, could not face the bowlers of Shri Ram College and were out early. In this way, the team of SD (PG) Muzaffarnagar could score only 155 runs after losing 8 wickets. The highest score from SD (PG) Muzaffarnagar was made by the team captain Manav Rathi, who scored 57 runs in 24 balls.
In this way, the team of Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar defeated the team of SD (PG), Muzaffarnagar by a huge score of 63 runs and won the title of Cricket (Men's Category) of Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur.
