Today International Women's Day was celebrated with great pomp in all the institutions of Shriram Group of Colleges. On this occasion, a seminar was organized in Shri Ram College on the theme of Women's Day, "Women Empowerment, Challenges and Possibilities" and poster making and presentation competitions were also organized. On this occasion, the program was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Savita Arya, Associate Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baghra and special guests included Sonia Luthra, Anuradha Verma social worker, Dr. Poonam Sharma, President Shriram College, Muzaffarnagar, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal Shriram College, Muzaffarnagar. , Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar, Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Dean Academics, Dr. Pooja Tomar, Head of Department Basic Science, Dr. Shweta Rathi, Dean Home Science, Meenakshi Kakran, Neetu Singh, Admission Coordinator, SRGC jointly lit the lamp. International Women's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the IIC (Institution Innovation Council) of Shriram College of Engineering, a unit of Shriram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar. This day is a day to salute the achievements of women. This day is celebrated as a celebration of all the economic, cultural, political and social achievements of women. At the same time, she is made to realize how important she is to us. On this occasion, distinguished social worker Beena Sharma was invited as the chief guest. The program was inaugurated by inviting the chief guest and director of the institution, Dr. SN Chauhan and Dean Dr. Suchitra Tyagi. After welcoming the guests, the students expressed their views on the theme of International Women's Day of 2024 “Invest in Women – Accelerate Progress” through a speech. Mainly every aspect related to women's upliftment was discussed by Vishu Malik, Riya Jain, Anjali and Deeksha.

A seminar was organized in Shriram College on International Women's Day. This program was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, poster making competitions were conducted. In the second phase, best presentation competition was conducted. Dean Home Science Dr. Shweta Rathi and Admission Coordinator Neetu Singh served as the jury in the competition. In the poster making competition, Akanksha of B.Ed got the first position, Prachi Sharma of BFA got the second position and Shiva got the third position and the consolation prize was jointly given to Payal Rajput of B.Sc Biotechnology and Gyaan of BFA. In the best presentation competition, Vami Roman Tyagi of B.Sc. (CBZ) stood first, Razia of B.Sc. (Microbiology) stood second.

The speakers and students present presented their views on the theme of International Women's Day titled “Women Empowerment, Challenges and Possibilities”. Presenting views on various related topics, the guests mainly talked about women's participation in politics, women breaking away from the constraints of society, women respecting their dignity and wishes, women resisting domestic violence, women's physical disability. Issues like being strong etc. were raised.

Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest of the program, Dr. Savita Arya, Associate Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baghra said that women are not weak but strong. Our women are already powerful. Emphasizing on women empowerment, he said that at present women have become more powerful than before and he stressed on women to become self-reliant.

Principal of Shriram College, Dr. Prerna Mittal said that the basic objective of celebrating International Women's Day is to empower women in the world and establish their dignity by making them aware of their rights. On the occasion of the program, he said that the personality of women is so great that the poet has beautifully created it from time to time in his works.

In the same program held at Sri Ram College of Engineering, the real thinking of our society and the struggle of women was discussed by teachers like Dr. Akanksha Singh, Dr. Shruti Mittal and Dr. Ruchi Rai. In the seminar, chief guest Dr. Beena Sharma presented an overview of the status of women in India and appreciated the better status of women in the present times. He said that only educated women can organize and strengthen the society. If women want to raise their status to equal empowerment in the society, then they will have to make their education a shield. Even today, there is about 60 percent of the society where women are untouchable from education. There, neither they themselves are aware of their development nor their rights, nor does the other section of the society want to do anything for their development. Equality is a long way off, women have to fight for their share. He said that unless we have knowledge of words like “Women’s Development, Women’s Environment, Women’s Education, Women’s Entrepreneurship” and Women’s Rights, we will not be able to present our stand in the society. Therefore, it is very important for us to educate ourselves and the coming generations to stop and improve the discrimination against women. On this occasion, the honored guest while presenting his views highlighted the important contribution of women in the society and described women as the foundation of the society.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest and other guests were felicitated by the Director and Dean of the college by presenting them with souvenirs and shawls. Dr. SN Chauhan, Director of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, appreciated the words of the chief guest and took an oath to organize programs for women upliftment in future. College Dean Dr. Suchitra Tyagi advised the teachers to participate in various educational programs and competitions to improve their future and wished everyone a bright future.
