In which Keshav Kumar, a well-known electronic media journalist and serving as a consulting editor in a national private channel of the country, was present as the main speaker. The topic of the guest lecture organized in the auditorium of Shri Ram College was “How to Identify News and Rumors in New Media”. The program was inaugurated by keynote speaker Keshav Kumar, Chairman of Contribution Seva Trust Akshay Sharma, Vice President of Contribution Seva Trust Gaurav Tyagi, Director of Shri Ram College Dr. Ashok Kumar, Dean Academics Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Dean Management Dr. Saurabh Mittal and members of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. On this occasion, while speaking on the topic, Keshav Kumar gave detailed information on how to identify news and rumors and said that all the information coming on social platforms is not news. In order to identify rumours, first of all look at the message you receive which seems misleading or suspicious. He told the students that it is important to first do research on it. While giving information, he said that every received information or message should not be sent to others until the news is confirmed to be correct. If this is done, we can stop rumors from spreading to a great extent. Along with this, he gave very in-depth information to the students about digital media and also told how important it is to be updated in social media and media. He told in his lecture that Charles Darwin's theory is that it is necessary to change with time otherwise you will become extinct. Therefore, it is necessary for you to have knowledge of all the new technologies in the field of media.
