About the course

Pharmacy is one of the popular job oriented course among the science students after class 12th. In this course the students study about the drugs and medicines, dispensing, dosage form, pharmaceutical engineering etc. The Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year (Eight Semester) degree Programme and popularly known as B-Pharm. Similarly Diploma of Pharmacy is a two-year diploma course popularly known as D-Pharm. This degree or diploma is a prerequisite for registration to practice as a pharmacist. It is a training to understand the properties and impacts of medicines and developing the skills required to counsel patients about their use 'Pharmacy degree/diploma holders can work in several fields such as in Production, Manufacturing Sales, Marketing, Analysis, Testing, Research &Development, Regulatory Bodies, Hospitals and Academics.

Future Prospects

The pharmacy sector offers lots of opportunities to the students after the completion of the course. The students can work in a Pharmaceutical company or can practice as a Pharmacist in hospitals. There is huge number of opportunities available for the students in both public and the private sector. They can also work in a government sector. Beside this, they can also work in an abroad company or can work as Hospital Pharmacist, Railway Pharmacist, Community Pharmacist, Drug Inspector, Drug Controller, Medical Representative, Patient Counselor, Quality Control Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Production Officer, Production Manager, Assistant Professor and Lecturer. Apart of that one can also start their own consultancies & medical shop of retail or wholesale.
