A national seminar on the topic “Contribution of Fine Arts to Indian Culture in the Present Perspective” was organized by the Department of Fine Arts in the auditorium of Shri Ram College. In which the Chief Guest was Director General, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Dr. Sanjeev Kishore Gautam Rajput and the special guests included retired Head, DAV College, Muzaffarnagar Dr. Mahavir Singh, Head Drawing and Painting, KK Jain, Khatauli Professor Dr. Neetu Vashishtha, Head of the Department Drawing and Painting. The program was started by BALLB student Manya Sharma and Director Research SRGC, Muzaffarnagar Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh by welcoming the guests and highlighting the objective of organizing the seminar. Thereafter, the Head of the Department, Dr. Meenakshi Kakran, while giving the biographical introduction of the founder of Fine Arts Department, Kurukshetra spokesperson, Dr. Ram Viranjan, highlighted the work done by him and the awards received by him.

On this occasion, the chief guest of the program, Director General, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Dr. Sanjeev Kishore Gautam Rajput, while presenting his views, said that the art of an artist is always for the society because man is a social creature, so by portraying the problems of the society, he can help them. Is talked about. After this, he explained the Chhapa illustration in detail and also explained the Kohbar tradition of Bihar. He said that if art is removed from human life then he will be like an animal. Art has the same relationship in our lives as wheat and roses do. Thereafter, the students also presented their questions to the chief guest, which were answered in detail by Dr. Sanjeev Kishore Gautam Rajput. He also told that he had a special contribution in the construction of Ram temple in Ayoghya.

On this occasion, the main speaker of the program, Dr. Ram Viranjan, Founder, Fine Arts Department, Kurukshetra gave his speech. In which he said that fine arts and culture are synonymous with each other. Our traditions, customs, rituals, costumes etc. weave the fabric of culture. We also get most of the evidence about history from paintings and hunting tools. Talking about Ellora Cave, he said that in the whole world, only in India has any architecture been constructed from top to bottom. Explaining the importance of Indian art, he said that arts have a great contribution in preserving Indian culture. Different types of arts preserve our historical documents. Speaking about modern art, he said that it is important in providing regional identity and establishes social responsibility.

On this occasion, Secretary NSAG SR Sculpture Artist Lalit Kala Academy Delhi, Dr. Suresh Kumar threw light on 2D and 3D art and said that art is the expression of our feelings. He explained in detail about the 2D and 3D work done in various temples.

On this occasion, Head of the Department of Drawing and Painting, JKP Post Graduate College, Muzaffarnagar, Professor Dr. Vandana Verma, while presenting her views on the impact of folk art on modern art, said that folk art never gets old and there is no need for a school-college to learn it. On this occasion, Director of Fine Arts Department, Dr. Manoj Dhiman and Meenakshi Kakran expressed their gratitude to the Chief Guest, Dr. Sanjeev Kishore Gautam Rajput, Director General, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and presented the logo of Shri Ram College.

Giving information on this occasion, Director of Fine Arts Department, Dr. Manoj Dhiman said that in this seminar, 300 students registered themselves and expressed their views on many topics in the form of their presentations. After this, prizes were also distributed by the chief guest for the presentation of the selected students. Similarly, many artists invited to the seminar enhanced the beauty of the seminar by presenting their views.

In the end, Director Research SRGC, Muzaffarnagar Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh read the vote of thanks and thanked everyone. This program was staged by Dr. Hina Gupta and Aanchal Aggarwal, faculty of Shri Ram College of Law.
