The ongoing 'Annual Sports Competition-2024' in Shriram College was concluded colorfully today. Dr. S.C. Kulshrestha, Chairman Shriram Group of Colleges was present as the chief guest in the closing program. The program was started by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, players and their team coaches and managers who performed brilliantly in sports were also rewarded.
On this occasion, Dr. SC Kulshrestha, Chairman of Shriram Group of Colleges, honored 142 players of Shriram College who have brought laurels to the college at All India, North Zone and Inter-college level by giving them track suits. The college encouraged such students by rewarding them.
On the last day of the ongoing 'Annual Sports Competition-2024' in the sports ground of Shri Ram College, the final match of cricket was played between the teams of Physical Education Department and Commerce Department. Batting first, the Physical Education Department team set a huge target of 114 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 12 overs to the opposition team. In response to which the Commerce Department team, which came to chase the target, could score only 61 runs in 12 overs at the loss of 8 wickets. In this way, the team of Physical Education Department won the match by 53 runs and won the title of Annual Sports-2024 Cricket Competition. Batsman Shivansh of the Physical Education Department team was declared “Man of the Match” and Kapil Chauhan was declared “Man of the Series”. Abhishek Chaudhary was awarded the best batsman award and Athar Rana was awarded the best bowler award.
After this, spectacular cultural programs were presented by various departments of Shri Ram Group of Colleges. Players who left a mark of their talent and spirit in various sports competitions on the field throughout the week were rewarded.
The title of Best Athlete 2024 Men's Championship was given to Md. Rakib, a student of Physical Education Department. The title of women's athletic championship was captured by Aditi Dhiman, a student of Physical Education Department. In the Volleyball Competition 2024, the teams of Physical Education Department got the first place in the MBA and men's category in the women's category. The title of best volleyball player in men's category was captured by Nishant of Physical Education Department. In the women's category, this title went to Manisha of the Management Department. The title of best player in Kho-Kho competition was given to Rizwan Ansari of Physical Education Department. The title of overall athletic men's and women's championship went to the Faculty of Physical Education. On this occasion, the title of best coach was given to Basic Science Department spokesperson Rajdeep Sehrawat. The best team manager was Saba of Bioscience. The title of best umpire was given to Aman Pal and Rajbhardwaj.
On this occasion, the chief guest of the program, Dr. SC Kulshrestha, Chairman of Shriram Group of Colleges, while congratulating all the winning players, said that Shriram Group of Colleges has always been providing a big platform to the students in sports. He said that every year through the annual sports week held in the sports grounds of the institute, the sports talents of Shri Ram College are shining at the national and international level. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that the players of Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar performed brilliantly in the inter-college sports competitions of Maa Shakumbhari University and won medals and gave the best performance in the university. He said that sports develops leadership abilities by disciplining a person's life. Therefore, every student should participate in sports competitions. He congratulated the organizing board and the physical education department for successfully organizing the annual sports competition.
Principal of Shri Ram College, Dr. Prerna Mittal said that this one week in the whole year is organized as Sports Week in the college. Sports talents from different departments of the college participate in various competitions with full enthusiasm in this annual sports program.In the end, Principal of Shri Ram College, Dr. Prerna Mittal expressed her gratitude to the chief guest and other guests for attending the program.
