Athletics competitions started

Athletics competitions were organized today under the ongoing 'Annual Sports-2024' in the sports ground of Shri Ram College. The chief guest of today's program was DGM Punjab National Bank Rajeev Aggarwal.

In the Athletics Meet-2024 which started from today, races of 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m along with shot put and discus, long jump and relay race etc. were played in men's and women's categories. Today, Ashu of Physical Education Department got the title of 800 m women's race race and Vipin of Physical Education Department got the title of 800 m men's race race. Whereas in the race of 100 meters men's category, Mau Rakib of Physical Education Department got the first place by defeating everyone and in the race of 100 meters women's category, Aditi Dhiman of Physical Education Department got the first place. Anita of Physical Education Department remained at the forefront in the race of 3000 meters women's category. In the 3000 meters men's race, Vipin of Physical Education Department got first place. In the shot put (shot put) men's category competition, Akshay Kumar of Physical Education Department got first place and in the women's category, Anita and Tanu Rani of Physical Education Department both got first place.

Dr. Girendra Gautam, Dean Academics of Shriram College, Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Principal of Shriram Polytechnic, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Director of Fine Arts Department, Dr. Manoj Dhiman, Dean Management, Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Dean of Shriram College of Engineering, Dr. Suchitra Tyagi etc. It was done by lighting the lamp. The commencement of Athletics Meet-2024 was formally announced by the Chief Guest. First of all, a march past was conducted by the students of every department of Shriram Group of Colleges representing their respective departments. After this, colorful cultural programs were organized. In which the students on one hand displayed different cultures through their dance.

In the athletics competitions, in the 800 m women's race, Ashu of B.P.Ed stood first, Priyanshi of Shri Ram Polytechnic stood second and Priyanshi of third year B.Sc. (Micro) stood third. In the 800m men's race, Vipin, Anant Tomar and Saurabh Kumar of the Physical Education Department won the first, second and third positions respectively. In the same 3000 meters men's race, Vipin, a student of the Physical Education Department, won the title by securing first place. Anshul of Polytechnic SRGC stood second and Ankush Saini of Physical Education Department stood third and in the 3000 m women's category, Anita, Riya and Pinky of Physical Education Department stood first, second and third respectively. In the race of 100 meters men's category, the first and second positions were obtained by M/s Rakib and M/s Bilal of BPES and Afzal of Shri Ram College of Pharmacy got the third position. In the 100 m women's category, Aditi Dhiman and Kajal of Physical Education Department stood first, Aditi Dhiman and Kajal of Physical Education Department stood second and Preeti of B.Sc. (Home Science) stood third. Rakib, Bilal and Karan of the Physical Education department stood first, second and third in the 200m men's category. In the 200 m women's category, Aditi Dhiman and Ashu of Physical Education Department stood first and second respectively and Princess of Bioscience Department stood third. In the 400 meter men's race, Rakib, Bilal of Physical Education Department stood first and second respectively and Manish Kumar of Polytechnic SRGC stood third. In the same 400 m women's category, Ashu and Riya Choudhary of Physical Education Department stood first, second place was held and Parisha of Education Department stood third. In the 1500 m men's race, Vipin of Physical Education Department stood first, Annat Tomar of Physical Education Department stood second and Lakshya Malik of B.Sc.(Agriculture Science) stood third. In the 1500m women's category, Priyanshi of Polytechnic SRC stood first, Lovely of Physical Education Department stood second and Preeti and Akansha of Bioscience department stood third.

n the shot put (shot put) men's competition, Akshay of Physical Education Department got the first place by throwing the shot put at a distance of 8.09 meters, while Anant Tomar of Physical Education Department got the second place by throwing the shot put at a distance of 7.90 meters. While Vishal Som of Physical Education Department got the third position by throwing the shot put at a distance of 7.49 meters. After this, in the women's category, Anita and Tanu Rani of Physical Education Department got the first position by throwing the shot put at a distance of 5.95 meters and 5.60 meters respectively. Kajal and Anshika Sharma of Physical Education Department got the second position by throwing the shot put at a distance of 5.50 meters and 4.90 meters respectively, while Gunjan Chaudhary of Physical Education Department got the third position by throwing the shot put at a distance of 4.85 meters respectively.

In discus throw (discus throw) men's category, Maud Bilal of Physical Education Department, who got first place, threw the discus at a distance of 17.67 meters, while Ajay Saini of Education Department got second place by throwing the discus at a distance of 17.30 meters and a distance of 15.15 meters. But Akshay Kumar of Physical Education Department got third position in discus throw. In the women's category, Kajal of Physical Education Department threw 15.30 meters, Anshika Sharma 13.20 meters and Tanu Rani 12.65 meters to stand first, second and third respectively.

In long jump men's category, Manish Kumar of SRGC Polytechnic stood first with a jump of 4.86 m, Rahul Adhikari of Physical Education Department stood second with a jump of 4.80 m and Saurabh of Physical Education Department stood third with a jump of 4.76 m. In the women's category, Aditi Dhiman of Physical Education Department stood first (4.16 m), Priyanshi of Shriram Polytechnic stood second (3.75 m) and Kajal of Physical Education Department stood third (3.70 m).

In relay race men's category, Physical Education Department stood first and second and Bioscience Department stood third. In the women's category, Physical Education Department stood first and second and Bioscience stood third.

On this occasion, Chief Guest DGM Punjab National Bank Rajeev Aggarwal said that sports develop qualities like discipline, punctuality, positivity, leadership ability etc. in individuals. Parents should encourage their children towards sports along with studies. The possibilities of making a future in sports have also increased. Encouraging the students, he said that all the players should participate in the competition with sportsmanship and display their best performance.
