Open Mic Competition "Mere Alfaaz" was organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication

Open mic competition "Mere Alfaaz" was organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in the auditorium of Shri Ram College. In the program, students of Journalism and Mass Communication, Commerce, BBA and Management departments displayed their creative writing skills and satire skills through self-composed poems and stories as well as standup comedy presentation. All the participants in the competition displayed their writing skills very brilliantly. On this occasion Dr. Poonam Sharma was the chief guest while the program was presided over by Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal of Shri Ram College. The program was started by Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Senior Journalist Neeraj Bharg, Gulzar Baig, Rajender Kaushik, Gulfam Ahmed, Dean Academic Dr. Vineet Sharma, Dean Management Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Head of Department Ravi Gautam, Vivek Tyagi, Dr. Ashfaq etc. with lamp lighting.

With the beginning of the program, the students showed their writing skills and filled the auditorium with thunderous applause. In Storytelling, the students of BBA and Commerce Department performed brilliantly. In Storytelling, Ashish of BBA got first position, Kritika Sinha of BBA got second position and Lakshya Pal of Commerce Department got third position. In stand-up comedy, Shatrughan of Journalism and Mass Communication Department got the third position, Yuvika of Journalism and Mass Communication Department got the second position and Sharda of Journalism and Mass Communication Department got the first position. Sparsh Goyal of Journalism and Mass Communication Department got first position in poetry, Shuaib of Commerce Department got second position and Ankita Kumari of BBA got third position.

On this occasion, the chairperson of the program, Dr. Prerna Mittal, while wishing the students a bright future, said that writing and speaking skills enriches students' confidence as well as their language. Writing is an integral part of our lifestyle and we should pay special attention to it. Along with this, he also recited a self-composed poem. On this occasion, Dr. Ravi Gautam, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, thanked everyone and said that the purpose of this program is to provide a platform by developing the creative skills of the students. He said that in this competition, the students have made the purpose of this program fruitful by presenting their self-written stories, poems and satire in a very interesting and attractive manner. On this occasion, spokespersons of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Shivani Burman, Mayank Verma and Kahaksha Mirza were present. This program was successfully conducted by Nikshey Dhiman.
