A workshop was organized on the topic of Film Appreciation.

Today, a workshop on Film Appreciation was organized jointly by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Shri Ram College and Meerut Chalchitra Society. The chief guest of the workshop, Dr. Prashant Kumar, Director, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Chaudhary Charan Singh University and special guest Vikas Bhargava, the head of the Department of Publicity, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The program was presided over by Associate Professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut and President, Meerut Cinematography Society, Dr. Manoj Shrivastava.The program was inaugurated by Dr. Prashant Kumar, Vikas Bhargava, Dr. Manoj Shrivastava, Dr. Arif, Joint Secretary, Shri Ram College, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal of Shri Ram College, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Dean of Shri Ram College of Management, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Head of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Ravi Gautam, Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Dr. Ashfaq, and Dr. Vivek Tyagi jointly lit the lamp.

Documentary films based on four different themes were screened in the first session of the workshop. In which short films based on the lives of people during Kovid, The Unknown Number, Main Muzaffarnagar Bol Raha Hoon, Namami Gange, and films made by students on Bihar floods were screened.

The second session of the workshop was a dialogue session in which the chief guest of the program, Dr. Prashant Kumar, while presenting his views, while motivating the students of journalism and mass communication department present in the auditorium, said that the present era is the golden period of mass communication. He said that while there has been a revolution in the field of information through newspapers, films, TV, radio and digital media, infinite opportunities have developed in the field of education, entertainment and awareness. Presenting his views on the films produced by the students displayed in the workshop, he said that through all the films, the creative skills of the students and understanding of the nuances of film direction are revealed that the students have done a very good job. He gave a review, analyzing in detail all the weak and strong aspects of the films released.Program President Manoj Shrivastava said in his address that documentary film is a realistic and creative film which is helpful in informing and making the society aware. He said that detailed and in-depth research is very important and important in documentary film production.

Appealing to the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, he said that the field of mass communication is very sensitive and responsible. Therefore, while doing documentary film production, care needs to be taken that the documentary film produced does not have a negative impact on the society. Therefore, the subject should be about making the society aware and not confused.On this occasion, Vikas Bhargava said in his address that we should give positive message to the society and not negative. Addressing the students of journalism and mass communication, he said that it is your moral responsibility to spread the country's culture positively while keeping the positive side of the country and society.On this occasion, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal of Shri Ram College and Dr. Arif, Joint Secretary of Shri Ram College also presented their views. At the end of the program, Dr. Ravi Gautam, Head of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, while expressing his vote of thanks said that the field of journalism and mass communication is a field which has immense potential for a better future. He said that the purpose of this workshop was to make the students aware of the field of film making and to make them aware of the important aspects related to it.He thanked all the guests for attending the program.The program was successfully conducted by Arjuman Fatma and Humera Tyagi.On this occasion, the spokespersons of the department Shivani Burman, Mayank Verma, Preetika Sharma and Kahkashan Mirza were present.
