An essay competition on the theme of Earth Day 2023 “Invest in our planet” and a poster making and essay writing competition was organized by the Basic Science Department at the Faculty of Education, Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar. The main objective of this program was to make the students aware about the conservation of the earth. The chief guests of the program were Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director of Shri Ram College of the college, Principal Dr. Prerna Mittal and Dean Academics Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma.

On this occasion, Dr. Pooja Tomar, Head of the Department of Basic Science, welcomed the chief guests by presenting them with bouquets. In the poster making competition, the students through their attractive posters and essays threw light on the various ways of conserving the earth. In the poster making competition, Kajal Malik of B.Sc. Biology got first, Nandini Verma got second and Abdul Sami got third place. Apart from this, Abdul Rehman and Himani Sharma received consolation prizes. In the essay writing competition, Deepa Kumari, a student of B.Sc Mathematics got first, Vanshika got second and Swati Rani of M.Sc got third place. Apart from this, Nandini Verma and Johnny Vishwakarma of B.Sc. received consolation prizes. Dr. Rishabh Bhardwaj and Manisha Madan were in the jury of the program.

On this occasion, Dr. Pooja Tomar, Head of the Department of Basic Science thanked the Chief Guest Director Dr. Ashok Kumar, Principal Dr. Prerna Mittal and Dean Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma. Sakshi Tyagi successfully conducted the program. Dr. Rahul Arya, Dr. Ritu Pundir, Vivek, Rajdeep Sehrawat, Sachin Sharma, Ashish, Pankaj Kumar etc. cooperated in this program.

Maximum number of students of B.Ed, D.El.Ed and M.Ed participated in the writing competition held in the teacher-education department of Shri Ram College. Out of which the jury had to deliberate a lot in the selection of the students who got first, second and third position. Because the article of all the students was very appreciable. The students came up with unique ideas keeping in mind the theme of Earth Day 2023 "Invest in our planet". In short, by reducing the use of plastic, conserving water, introducing organic farming, planting trees, adopting cleanliness campaign and making low and high level students and society aware of environmental protection, etc. By adopting small activities, you can contribute to cooperation in the protection of the earth. The students who got first, second and third place in the competition were Anju Rani, Sakshi Malik and Farah respectively. Along with this, the articles of Simpa Verma and Akash Kumar were also commendable. Both these students were also encouraged by nominating them for consolation prizes.

Principal Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar Dr. Prerna Mittal Admission Incharge, Dr. Neetu Singh, teachers of the department Bhanu Pratap Verma, Jagmehar Gautam, Sandeep Rathi, Tina Agarwal, Doli Devi and Ritu Garg etc. were present on this occasion. Appreciating the students, everyone encouraged them to take part in similar competitions in the future and wished them a bright future.
